It was a bad month. There was no enquiry coming my way. I had bills to pay and every-one else around me kept saying how quiet it was. Have you been there before? My boss was breathing down my neck too!

I didn’t know about marketing. But I realised that I needed to do something. And quick.

So I sent an e-mail to my existing database (kindly generated by the company I was working for). 500 e-mails. It took me all day. (this was before the days of automated e-mails!)

Over the next 4 days I received dozens of responses. I made bookings and over $100,000 in revenue. I was the only consultant to reach target that month. From one e-mail.

Fast forward a few years and now I'm out on my own. Hurrah – I've built my skills & confidence, started my business, got my website together...and then...

Crickets. The phone didn’t ring. Doh - I remembered that in order for me to live my dream, I’d have to go to market, and sell myself...ARGH!

Here are a few of the problems I encountered....

1. I really didn’t know how
2. I didn’t have a huge amount of $$ to invest
3. I struggled with believing people would want to buy from me
4. I was confused by the all the options and the lingo

In 10,000++ hours of mentoring and coaching in sales....I have NEVER found anyone that can't learn. AND I have NEVER found anyone who didn't have to.
